I Have a Bed!
Posted by Gina under day by day, ponderings
Last night I got an amazingly restful 8 hours of sleep. It was not because my conscience was clear, nor was it due to a comfortable room temperature- it was because I finally have a bed. My new home feels like home.
You’d think that having a bed wouldn’t be a big deal. Jesus slept in a bale of hay. People overseas sleep on whatever they can find. Throw a blanket on the floor and there you have it! I can’t believe I lost sleep over it… literally.
These last couple weeks have not been the most restful, but I did realize a few things during my ‘bed-less stage.’
1. I take far too much for granted.
2. Eight hours of sleep really does do a body (and mind) good.
3. I am incredibly blessed… and I don’t deserve any of it- but God loves me despite myself.
God has blessed me with so many things… a car, a job, a safe place to call home- a bed. There are so many people out there who are forced to live without… what right have I to complain about a few restless nights? I really want to dedicate my life- and this blog- to Him… and really begin learning more about the needs of others. I sincerely hope to become a “little queen, living for her King.”
“Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
Wasnt it far beyond my reach?
Give me your heart for the once forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see”
