“Commit your work to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed.” Prov 16:3

I can’t believe all that has occured since my last post!

I took a trip to Alaska, bought a new car, drove down to the southern US (Nashville, Atlanta, Copperhill), signed a lease for a new apartment, and sold my beloved Subaru- Bug.

The latest on this list actually occured today. I was saving my subaru for a friend who notified me yesterday that he would not be able to afford it. On a whim, I posted an ad on Craigslist detailing every single issue I could recall Bug having (failing head gasket, engine seal issues, rusty roters, old spark plugs, etc.) Within minutes I had my first response… within 12 hours I had 10 others. I figured my low asking price would garner a bit of interest, but I wasn’t expecting this much! ($800 isn’t much for a car… except if it has thousands of dollars worth of issues!)

The new owner is a guy named Tony. He was looking for a subaru for his wife- and emailed me right away. They lived right around the corner from Wedgwood (my job) so they checked the car out last night- and liked it. Tony has a lot of car repair experience, so he saw through Bug’s issues and loved it for what it could be. Apparently his family likes to name their cars as well… his two little girls renamed dear Bug “Tinkerbell”.

I probably could have sold it for a little more, but $800 was the number that would not leave my mind… and it ended up being the perfect number for them (both husband and wife were able to withdraw a max of $400 from their accounts through the ATM.) I could have donated it for nothing, so that $800 is a total blessing for me too. Now instead of wondering if my beloved first car was sold to a junkyard or as a lemon to an unsuspecting buyer, I rest assured knowing it went to a good family.

It is amazing how God has worked out this whole car situation… Mali- my new honda civic- cost me $4800… I paid for it by depositing $3500 worth of war bonds (with interest, they ended up totaling $4801.) The car was originally listed at $4900- but the owner dropped the price before I got to go look at it. Why that car didn’t sell before I saw it a week after it was posted, I don’t know… why my dilapitated car sold within hours of its posting, I can only guess… but I’m pretty sure God’s hand orchestrated all of this. I trusted Him to provide a car for my trip to TN, and He did. I prayed that Bug would bless someone, and it has.

I have never felt more blessed.
